Introducing our property experts

Meet our panel of property experts who will be advising first time home buyers on every aspect of finding and buying a home, on the Expresso Show.

Buying a new home is incredibly exciting but can be intimidating for first time buyers who may not have all the necessary knowledge about the process. Over the course of the next 6 weeks, Private Property CEO, Simon Bray, will be joined on the Expresso Show by experts in finance, property law and real estate to explain the various aspects of searching for and buying a property.

Simon Bray, Private Property CEO

Software designer, online marketer, and avid surfer; Simon Bray is the CEO of Private Property.

Having previously lead the product and technology department and served as the COO, he brings a passion for technology and a deep understanding of the property industry to the business.

Private Property showcases sales and rental property from all over South Africa including listings from thousands of the country’s best Estate Agents, Home Owners, Banks and Developers. Private Property’s exposure to the entire market provides Simon with a unique opportunity to view the industry from a top down perspective, giving Simon and his team distinctive insight into property trends.

Lisa Boniface, LLB, Dykes van Heerden (KZN) Inc

Lisa Boniface is an admitted Conveyancing Attorney. She graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 2008. She completed her articles of clerkship at Rossouws Lesie Incorporated where she focused mainly on general litigation and thereafter headed up the Nedbank foreclosure department before joining Dykes van Heerden (KZN) Inc. Lisa is based in the Dykes van Heerden Durban office where she specialises in Property Law and all aspects of conveyancing including transfers, bonds and developments. Lisa is an adrenaline junkie who loves her sport, trying new things and meeting new people.

Lephoi Mokgatle, Head: Digital Channel and Contact Centre for Nedbank Home Loans

Lephoi is the Head of the Home Loans Digital Channel for Nedbank. She has over 12 years banking experience, 8 of which have been in the home loan sales environment.

After a year of studying banking models in Uganda, the UAE and the UK, Lephoi was then promoted to lead the online home loans sales team at one of the South African banks in 2011. She joined Nedbank Home Loans in 2012 and helped the business launch their first online application process. This project ultimately resulted in increased home loan sales as well as a reduction in the business’ cost to income ratio. Her ability to identify appropriate digital marketing tactics, as well as her understanding of online client behaviour has resulted in sales volumes doubling for the channel within a period of 3 months. When she is not fulfilling her passion of putting South Africans in homes, Lephoi enjoys running and discovering new spaces in her favourite city, Johannesburg.

If you’re planning on buying a new home this year, be sure to catch our expert property panel on the Expresso Show, SABC 3, Tuesday to Thursday, from 17th
