This neighbourhood lies on the edge of False Bay, at the foot of the Hottentots Holland Mountains. This makes it a nature lovers paradise, with an abundance of both water and mountain activities.
The main beach is Melkbaai Beach, a 5km beach known as one of the best and safest bathing areas in South Africa. Whether you like to surf, paddle ski, sail or go on a power boat, this beach has it all.
The Dorpsmeent Centre and Somerset Mall provide all the stores you could need, and Friedman & Cohen is the largest single shop in the Strand.
